Some tips when starting seeds:
- use a sterile medium to plant your seeds in . Seedlings are very vulnerable so it helps if you use a pest-free mix.
- On top of the fridge is a good spot to place your seeded pots/containers. They like a nice warm spot. It also helps to cover the pot/container with plastic (saran wrap or a plastic bag) to keep the moisture in as you're waiting for seeds to sprout.
- When you start to see green come up, remove the pastic and move the seedlings to the brightest spot in your home. It helps to put them on a tray lined with aluminum foil. The foil will reflect light to let your seedlings access maximum light.
- When watering, be very gentle! Mist with a spray bottle or water from below (pour water into your tray so that the plants can take up water from below).
